Jalapeño is the first self-developed AI inference chip jointly released by OpenAI and Broadcom. It is an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) manufactured using a 3nm process by TSMC, primarily intended for large-model inference scenarios, providing computing power for ChatGPT and its applications. Small-scale deployment is planned to begin at the end of 2026.
